Best Places to Watch World Cup in Oslo

Norwegians love watching sports so much that it’s no secret that everything stops in the city during the Winter Olympics. So this summer, rest assured there’s no shortage of places to watch the World Cup. Below you’ll find a selection of the best sports bars and outdoor screens in Oslo.
1. Kontraskjæret
Park

Kontraskjæret is a park next to the Akershus fortress. It was previously a part of the fortification but now this open space serves as the perfect place for concerts, pop-up amusement parks, and sports viewing. This summer, Fotballfesten.no has organized a grand World Cup viewing experience in Kontraskjæret, complete with food, drink and a ginormous screen.
2. The Dubliner
Pub, Irish

Since 1994, Dubliner has been a popular meeting place for locals and visitors alike. Located near the City Hall, The Dubliner is a place to enjoy authentic pub food, sip on your favorite draft, listen to live music and, whenever it’s football season, watch the matches live on their screen.
3. The Scotsman
Pub, Pub Grub

4. Pokalen
Pub, Pub Grub

Pokalen, a pub at Vulkan, is determined to give you the best World Cup experience this year. From June 14 until July 15, Pokalen and the whole area around it will turn into a big World Cup venue: think big screens, outdoor and indoor seating, food stations, an outside bar and a lot of drinks to wash down the games.
5. Sir Winston's Public House
Pub, Pub Grub

Another centrally located pub at Karl Johans is Sir Winston’s Public House, which promises to “show all the World Cup games, even the full ones”. Combine that with their cosy atmosphere, long opening hours and their eclectic food bites, and you’ve got your new favorite place to be.
6. Bohemen Sportspub
Pub, Pub Grub

Bohemen Sportspub has been around since 1998. Centrally located in Arbeidergata, this pub has always been a place for football enthusiasts – something that becomes clear the minute you walk in the door. During World Cup this year, you’ll have the opportunity to watch all the games here (even the ones that air early) and discuss the teams’ progress with their in-house “football experts”.
