A Kingman landmark, the Dambar & Steak House was originally built during the 1930s. According to local legend, a 1960s construction worker constantly argued with his wife about buying the bar, which she came to refer to as that ‘damn bar.’ The bar’s unusual name is also a reference to Kingman’s former nickname as the ‘Gateway to the Hoover Dam.’ Today, the Dambar is also a steakhouse, offering huge steaks in its Old West-style interior. The restaurant’s prime rib is slow roasted, and its biscuits are baked on-site. Dambar also features its own microbrews as well as wines from 14 Hands Winery.
