It has been lauded as having the best coffee in Montenegro, and it is genuinely hard to argue with such big statements. Coffeein might have an unusually spelled moniker, but there is nothing weird about the hot drinks on offer. The name might be a little bit over the top, but there is plenty to enjoy at WOW Lounge in Budva. This hyper-stylish establishment is located in the limbo between new and old Budva, but its own sight is focused firmly on the former. Expect plenty of class and modernity here, to go with Italian coffee and absolute confidence.

Casper Bar

An idyllic old town option ringed by pine trees and a sense of true serenity, Casper Bar offers something a little more tranquil as opposed to the chaotic beach clubs for which Budva is known. This charmer has a considerable collection of craft beers, with the focus certainly on quality over quantity. Casper Bar is undoubtedly the sort of place you’ll find yourself returning to time and time again.

El Rey

It might be a little far out of town for some, but the lure of a faultless view of the Adriatic Sea might just be too strong for just as many. The vista is the real pull here after all, and Montenegro doesn’t come much more tranquil than a tasty cup of coffee and the vast expanse of one of Europe’s most magnificent seas. Worth every kilometre.

Hemingway Bar

Ernest Hemingway was known for his fondness for a tipple or two, so it is no surprise to hear that the bar that takes his name in Budva is a fine choice for a night out. Some of the best cocktails in the city are found at this spot near the old town, so if you’re after colourful concoctions, then you know where to go. It can get very busy in the summer evenings, so a reservation is a good idea – it is worth it.
