The Top Breakfast and Brunch Spots in Kigali

Brunch, while one of the most important meals of the day, is just starting to make it to Kigali. With the city’s plentiful produce, farm fresh eggs, and excellent bakeries, Kigali’s breakfast and brunch scene is on the rise.
1. Inzora Rooftop Cafe
Cafe, Vegetarian, Coffee

Even without a large menu, Inzora Rooftop Cafe still provides some of the best brunch and breakfast options in the city. Their yogurt, homemade granola, and passion fruit bowl is always a treat. Additionally, their coffee and fresh baked goods (some gluten-free) cannot be missed.
2. La Terrasse at Hotel des Mille Collines
Hotel

Hotel des Mille Collines has been a feature of the Kigali brunch and breakfast scene for many years. A wide selection of pastries, eggs, and meat is available, and a quick dip in the famous pool afterwards is recommended. Their Sunday brunch is particularly delicious.
3. Java House
Cafe, Restaurant, Vegetarian, Mexican, Healthy

Open all day, Java House is one of the only places in Kigali with a thorough and dedicated breakfast menu. Smoothies, milkshakes, croissant egg sandwiches, pancakes, and omelettes come recommended, as does their superb location in Kigali Heights.
4. Baso Patissier
Cafe, Patisserie, Dessert, Vegetarian

This new bakery has quickly become one of Kigali’s best spots, providing delicious eclairs, viennoiseries, eggs, and more. Come for the vanilla eclair, and stay for the view and lovely ambiance.
5. J Lynn's
Cafe, Pastries, Vegetarian, Coffee, Tea

J Lynn’s, previously named ABC Bagel, is the only place to get decent bagels in Kigali. Their homemade doughnuts (try the maple walnut!), chocolate chunk cookies, and fresh salads are also tasty.
6. Heaven
Hotel Restaurant, Restaurant, African, Fusion, Vegan, Vegetarian, Gluten-free

Heaven’s weekend brunch is undeniably a Kigali staple. Fresh eggs, pancakes made-to-order, yogurt, and an assortment of fruit are available at their popular buffet.
7. Soko Restaurant at the Marriott
Restaurant, Contemporary, African, Healthy, Vegetarian, Gluten-free, Indian

The Soko Restaurant, located downstairs in the Kigali Marriott Hotel, offers one of the best brunch buffets in town. Selections of pastries, warm dishes, eggs made-to-order, pancakes, desserts, and more is available, not to mention made-to-order stir fry noodles as well. Their normal breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffets are also reliably good.
8. Rz Manna
Bakery, Cafe, Asian, Vegetarian
A Korean bakery in the heart of the Nyarutarama neighborhood, Rz Manna supplies good pastries, smoothies, bagels, and an assortment of breakfast and brunch options. Their cakes are a Kigali favorite.
