Watch the Red Sox Play From This Restaurant Under Fenway’s Bleachers

It turns out that the best seats to watch baseball at Boston’s iconic Fenway Park may not be in the stadium itself.
From a quick glance, Bleacher Bar may look like an average restaurant. But enter, and you’ll understand what keeps fans coming back: a window that overlooks the center field of Fenway Park.

Bleacher Bar, which opened in 2008, was once a batting cage for the visiting team and storage space. Its triangular layout is nestled underneath the outfield bleachers. While patrons can clearly see out onto the field, a special glass partition serves as a barrier that keeps the stadium and bar separate.

Dan, a die-hard Red Sox fan who lives just outside the city, comes to the bar for its environment. “The atmosphere is always good, especially during games. Most people are there to chat and watch baseball,” he said. It’s “packed, but manageable.”
The bar feels like an extension of the stadium with the matching “green monster” color scheme. Red Sox memorabilia and TVs broadcasting sports games fill the wall space. Boston favorites like Sam Adams and Harpoon are available as drafts or in cans, and the list of bottles possible is over 25. At the restaurant, deli and casual bar food and sandwiches (over two dozen) are on the menu.
One tip to keep in mind is to get to Bleacher Bar early on game day—it doesn’t take reservations.
“It can get crowded, so you may need to be prepared for that. There is seating, but it can fill up fast,” says Dan.
